GIRO Manifest MTB MIPS Bike Helmet

The Manifest is a Trail style helmet with that is packed with premium features designed to optimise comfort, airflow, and protection. The helmet has a deep fit with extended coverage at the temples and rear, and ventilation that rivals some of the best road helmets on the market. This is Giro's top of the line MTB helmet and they've been uncompromising in their quest to design the ultimate open face helmet for off-road riding in rowdy terrain.

Who's this item for: This is a great choice for any type of mountain biking but it might be a little too much helmet for thoroughbred XC racers.

Construction: There is a lot of tech going on in this helmet! The Manifest is designed around the new MIPS Spherical system. This has been designed in partnership with Bell and MIPS to create a unique ball and socket design between two separate layers of EPS foam.

The inner layer is made of a less dense foam that is more comfortable against the head and better suited to absorbing low-speed impacts. The outer layer uses a foam that is denser and better suited to high-speed impacts.

The Spherical system is tied together by the AURA reinforcing arch which works to bolster the structural integrity of the helmet while optimising the flow of air into a series of huge vents and internal air channels.

Rotational liner: This helmet has been designed around the MIPS spherical system which brings market-leading design, performance and brain protection together without compromising comfort, ventilation, or adding weight. Perhaps best of all, it doesn't add any excess bulk so you won't look like a mushroom head!

Straps: The straps utilise a fully adjustable Y-yoke setup and feature a Fidlock magnetic buckle for quick and secure fastening and one-handed operation.

Retention System: Retention duties are handled by the Roc Loc Air system which works in tandem with the extensive internal venting to maximise airflow up and through the helmet. Roc Loc Air has its own built-in pads which comfortably cradle the back of your head without creating pressure points on the knobby bits. The system is built with added durability to withstand the punishment that a MTB helmet is sure to receive over its lifetime.

Ventilation: The Manifest helmet has been extensively tested and tweaked to provide cooling power that is unrivalled in a MTB helmet and is right up there with the best Road bike helmets available. There are 19 huge external vents and deep internal channelling to keep the cool air flowing through.

Padding: The plush quick-drying XT2 padding has microbial properties to fight off odour causing bacteria so the helmet will stay fresh for longer. The padding went through five iterations before Giro was sure that it provided the best compromise between sweat absorption and comfort.

Visor: The visor uses a moto-style screw-in visor which allows for one-handed on the fly adjustment. The visor is goggle friendly and offers 15 degrees of adjustment so you can park your goggles up there during the climbs and easily get it back in the right spot for the descents. There are no detents on this visor so it'll always be straight.

Weight: 346g for a medium so it's even lighter than the Montaro which clocks in at 377g.

Other

  • Goggle gripper on the back of the helmet to keep your strap in place.
  • The extended temples are notched on the inside to leave room for sunglasses.
  • Rubber grippers under the arches help you to securely park your sunnies when it gets steamy on the climbs.
  • Reflective rear decals provide extra visibility in low light.
Pros: Ultimate in protection, ventilation, and comfort. This helmet is packed with features to make your experience with it as pleasing as possible.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.

Slightly repetitive but I did love some things
Format: Kindle
I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.

delightful read
Format: Kindle
What a delightful read. The characters are awesome, the plot was so good, I loved it. I was intrigued and it kept me wanting more. Told in multiple pov, the book sucks you in and doesn’t let go. I cannot wait to read the next book.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.
